In this work, we have investigated expanded graphite (EG) activated by heat treatment for carbon dioxide adsorption. The surface functional groups and specific elements of the samples were confirmed by FT-IR and XPS, respectively. The microcrystalline structures and morphologies were evaluated by XRD and SEM, respectively. The carbon dioxide adsorption of the EG samples as a function of activation temperature was investigated by BEL-HP at 298K/30 atm. From the results, it was found that the carbon dioxide adsorption capacity was enhanced with increasing of activation temperature, resulting from the formation of new created spaces suitable for carbon dioxide molecules. |
