Rapid fabrication of artificial opal film by slide coating method |

3-Dimensional structures of well-ordered colloidal crystals have significant importance due to their potential applications in various photonic crystal devices. Recently we reported a slide coating method which rapidly fabricates large area colloidal crystal film using submicron-sized PS particles (200~300nm). In the current study, the method has been modified to expand the slide coating technique toward more practical applications. Coating of alcohol-dispersed polymer particles on various substrates were studied using a modified slide coating method. Structure of well-ordered colloidal crystal films were verified through SEM and reflectance spectra. |
