Ruthenium@Silica nanoparticles were produced by using the impregnation method. SNPs have been adopted to support ruthenium to avoid accumulation and thus increasing the surface area. Characterization of the nanocatalyst was carried out with SEM, TEM, XRD, and XPS. The catalytic activity was optimized with 4-nitrophenol and Ru@SNP nanocatalyst exhibited an excellent performance for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol. Moreover, no product with the SNPs kept for long time confirmed ruthenium as an active site in the reaction. |
