The present study reports the synthesis of mesoporous ZrO2 nanoparticles with different crystalline phases. The nanoparticles were synthesized through a cost-effective and modified sol-gel method at pH values ranging from 5 to 12. The as-synthesized samples were subsequently sintered at different calcination temperatures to study the influence of the calcination temperature. The nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and nitrogen physisorption studies analyses. This study provides a systematic preparation method for the formation of ZrO2 nanocrystals with controlled particle size and phase structures. |
