Suzuki coupling reaction is one of the most important tools for bond formation between aromatic rings with both high conversion and easy treatment because acceptability of functional group is feasible regardless of steric effect. In this study, conjugated polymer, which can offer electrical conductivity, was synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction. 9,9-Dioctylfluorene-2,7-diboronic acid bis(1,3-propanediol) ester and 1,4-dibromobenzene were used as monomers to synthesize the conjugated polymer at the mild reaction conditions of 85~90°C. The functional groups in monomer and polymer were evaluated with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The photoluminescence spectroscopy was used to determine the optical properties of polymer. The cyclic voltammetry was used to determine the electrochemical properties. The band gap of polymer was studied using both UV-spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. |
