Preparation and Electrochemical Characterization of Chemical Activated Graphite Nanofibers with Potassium Hydroxide |

In this work, we prepared the activated graphite nanofibers (A-GNFs) via chemical activation with KOH/GNFs ratios in a range of 1:1 to 1:5. The effect of KOH/GNFs ratios was studied in the surface and textural properties of the samples for increasing specific capacitance. The surface properties of A-GNFs were characterized by XRD and SEM. The textural properties of the A-GNFs were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms.Cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge experiments were adopted to investigate their electrochemical behaviors. From the results, specific capacitance of the A-GNFs was increased with increasing KOH reagent when the ratios of KOH/GNFs increased at 1:4. It was attributed to increasing specific surface area and total pore volume of the A-GNFs by KOH activation. |
