Nanocomposites consisting of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/TiO2/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-graphene oxide (GO) were prepared in order to enhance the photocatalytic activities. Hydrophilic PVA is used as substrate, which has excellent mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and nontoxicity. TiO2 is used as photocatalyst for the degradation of various environmental pollutants. Graphene oxide is used to improve the dispersion of TiO2 and the adsorption of pollutant. The morphology was investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by UV spectrometer based on the degradation of model pollutant. The enhanced photocatalytic performance is attributed to the recombination suppression of hole-electron pair from TiO2 and the effective adsorption of pollutants by MWCNT-GO composite. |
