Polydopamine (pDA) coating has been extensively implemented to many areas such as cell culture, energy storage devices, microfluidics, anti-corrosion coating, biomolecule conjugation, surface-initiated polymerization, and many others, because of its versatility and robustness. Albeit the successful use of pDA coating in various areas, the current methodology for pDA coating has a significant drawback; it takes several hours to introduce sufficient amount of the pDA layers onto surfaces, and therefore, investiga-tion of new methodology for advanced pDA coating is required. Herein, we analyzed factors that affect to the efficacy of pDA coating, and found the optimum condition for accelerating the coating speed. The significant enhancement of coating speed enabled combination with spraying system, and consequently, the efficiency of the pDA coating was further improved. |
