Silver/polyimides hybrid films attract attentions as heat-dissipated and electromagnetic shielding effective films. Hydroxy polyimide as soluble polyimides have received much attention as an alternative to insoluble and infusible conventional polyimides, such as Kapton®, in various optoelectronic devices including ink-jet printers, heaters, and flexible displays. Furthermore, hydroxyl group is expected to fabricate nano-sized metallic particles with dipole-dipole interaction with silvers. In this study, we prepared silver/polyimide film by in-situ formation of silver phase in soluble processable hydroxy polyimide. The silver phase was formed by reducing silver precursor formulated with the polyimide. The size and distribution of the silver phase were controlled by applying various reducing methods and organic surfactant. Detailed results will be discussed. |
