Temperature sensitive sol-gel transition behavior and micellization behavior of aqueous solution of biodegradable block copolymer have been studied intensively. In the previous work of our group, star-shaped PLLA-PEO block copolymer were developed, and their micellization and gelation behaviors in aqeuous solution were investigated. In this study, biodegradable star-shaped PLGA-PEO was synthesized by the coupling reaction of two reactive precursors, a hydroxy terminated 3 armed poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (star PLGA) and α-monocarboxy-ω-monomethoxy poly(ethylene oxide) (CMPEO, MW = 2000 or 5000). They formed micelle in aqueous solution over the critical concentration and micellization behavior was investigated by dynamic light scattering in dilute solution. In high concentration solution, gelation which was due to the packing of the micelle occurs. Temperature dependent sol-gel transition behaviors were investigated by tube tilting mehtod.
