초록 | Great progress in medical diagnostics, tissue engineering, drug delivery and implants can be attributed to the advances in biomaterials. In our lab, we have developed a novel enzymatic method for facile immobilization of bioactive molecules, (antifouling polymers, antibacterial and nitric oxide-generating compounds) onto the surfaces. This approach using Tyrosinase (Tyr)-catalyzed oxidative reaction to convert phenol molecules into o-quinones and form reversible coordination bonds to metallic substrates or polymeric substrates. The method takes advantage of fast reactions under very mild conditions. In addition, peroxidase based in-situ forming hydrogels will be discussed in the presentation.
