As is well known, Sn has been widely investigated as an anode in lithium ion battery due to its high initially Li-ion alloying and de-alloying capacity, unfortunately, its cyclability is so poor that it cannot be applied for any commercial purposes. For these reasons, it could not be applied to practical use. In this work, the Sn-Ni thin films with different composition were prepared by electrodeposition. We report the results of the XRD and SEM. We suggest that this is the key phase for its high capacity and lengthened cycle life. This work demonstrated that Ni-Sn alloy thin film is a promising anode material for high rate discharge and large size Li-ion battery because of its good electronic conductivity and excellent safety. |
