Polymer solar cells fabricated by solution process such as spin-coating have many advantages with low cost, large-area fabrication, etc. Tetrazine-based copolymers seem to be very interesting, in terms of their HOMO energy level, absorption efficiency, and band-gap, etc. In this study, carbazole-tetrazine and fluorene-tetrazine conjugated polymers were synthesized via multi-step procedures. Chemical structures and molecular weights of the polymers were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and GPC. Thermal, optical and electrochemical properties of the polymers were studied by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, UV-visible spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. Bulk heterojunction solar cells with ITO/PEDOT:PSS/Polymer:PCBM/LiF/Al configuration were fabricated. Power conversion efficiency of the polymer solar cells was over 2% under AM 1.5G and at 100 mW/cm2 light illumination. |
