The role of structure directing agent(SDA) in zeolite synthesis can produce different zeolite morphology and crystal structure. In this work, we are attempted to prepare zeolite using mixed two different SDAs, N1,N1,N3,N3-tetramethylpropane-1,3-diamine (TMPD) and N1,N1,N3,N3,2,2-hexamethylpropane-1,3-diamine (HMPD). Synthesized zeolites were characterized by X-ray diffraction patterns, scanning electron micrographs and transmission electron micrographs. The location of the structure directing agent was found using structure determination of powder diffraction using Fox and GSAS. The result suggested that the zeolites showed different phases and morphologies depending on the ratio of the two different tertiary amines SDAs, TMPD and HMPD. The morphology control changed the strong adsorption site in a manner suitable for carbon dioxide capture and storage. |
