제목 Synthesis of Hollow Mesoporous TiN Nanostructures as An Efficient Catalyst Support for Methanol Electro-Oxidation
초록 Developing energy systems having eco-friendly power generation such as a DMFC is always an important issue. It is well known that not only carbon support is corroded but also Pt catalysts are prone to poisoned easily by CO generated, when Pt/C catalysts is applied on anode electrode during long-term operation of the DMFC. In this study, we report the hollow mesoporous TiN nanostructures to replace the carbon support. Titanium nitride with an extra electron shows significant conductivity. We synthesized Hollow TiN nanoparticles by sol-gel synthesis followed by thermal treatment under ammonia atmosphere. Pt nanoparticles were deposited on the TiN supports through surfactant-stabilized method. We confirmed that hollow titanium nitride with pure TiN crystalline showed excellent electrochemical characteristics and Pt deposited TiN catalyst showed the enhanced catalytic activity on methanol electro oxidation due to abundant electron of TiN inducing Pt nanoparticles as active metallic state.
