The effect of static electric field from the finite conductor on the hydrodynamic behavior of a dielectric liquid film is investigated, especially concerning about the interfacial geometry by the mathematical expressions. Above all, after depicting the situation of interest, the governing equations in the electrohydrodynamics of necessity are introduced with the hydrodynamical and the electrodynamical parameters which define the system configuration, as well as the plausible assumptions and the appropriate boundary conditions. From these equations and parameters, the dimensionless numbers representing the system are extracted. In this case, the Hamaker's constant won't be included because of its insignificant effect on the dynamics. Having the power series expansions of all equations with regard to the slenderness parameter to take the dominant terms, the distributions of electric field are dealt. Then, the evolution equation of the interfacial geometry are derived and solved numerically. |
