Ionic Liquids Grafted Porous Polymer: Synthesis and Application as Efficient catalyst towards Cycloaddition of Epoxide with CO2 |

Ionic liquids were covalently anchored onto surface of highly corosslinked porous divinylbenzene/ N-vinylimidazole copolymer beads. The resulting catalysts were sysmatically characterized by scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analyzer, BET and elemental analysis. These heterogeneous catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activities towards the cycloaddition of carbon dioxide to allyl glycidyl ether. It was found that the texture properties of polymer matrix including the surface area and average pore size have great impact on the catalytic activity owing to the substance-confined diffusion effects. The effects of alkyl halide structure and reaction parameters were investigated. |
