Controlled synthesis of ZnO structure in terms of size and shape has been strongly motivated as the properties can be tailored by shape, size and novel applications can be investigated dependent on their structural properties. ZnO is considered as a promissing material and has been widely used in many fields because it has many advanced properties, such as transparent conducting electrodes of soler cell, surface acoustic devices, wide band gap energy with hexagonal wurtzite structure, inexpensive and abundant. In this study, ZnO was prepared by glycol process using Zinc acetate dehydrate as Zn source, 1,4 butanediol as solvent, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and Iso-butyl alcohol (IBA) as anionic surfactant and surface binder, respectively. Firstly, 0.05 mol of Zinc acetate dehydrate was mixed with 100 ml of 1,4-butanediol and then stirring at room temperature for 30 min. The solution was refluxed glycol reaction at 150 C for 30 min. After cooling, the obtained powders were washed for 3 time by ethanol and dried at 80 C in dry oven for 24 h. The synthesized ZnO powders were analyzed by using XRD, FE-SEM, UV-vis and PL. In the condition, The morphologies of synthesized ZnO powders were changed from hexagonal rode-like to hexagonal disk-like and band gap energies were changed by using surfactant. |
