제목 Precise Control in Size and Shape of Ellipsoidal Block Copolymer Particles and Its Importance in Tuning Their Coating Properties
초록 Systematic control of shape-anisotropy of polymeric particles is of great importance in tuning their shape-dependent properties. Here, we report a precise control of size and shape of non-spherical block copolymer particles and their shape-dependent coating property. Ellipsoidal polystyrene-block-1,4-polybutadiene (PS-b-PB) particles was generated by controlled solvent evaporation from emulsion droplet. Size control was possible through tuning of pore size of Shirasu Porous Glass (SPG) membrane in the range of few hundred nanometers to few microns. Moreover, fine-tuning of aspect ratio depending on particle size and molecular weight of PS-b-PB was demonstrated To further demonstrate the importance of aspect ratio control, suppression of coffee-ring effect depending on the aspect ratio of ellipsoid was observed. Ellipsoids with sufficiently long aspect ratio produced uniform coating over large area of substrate.
