Cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer on the earth and can be extracted from plant cell wall, bacteria, algae, fungi, and some oceanic organisms. Cellulose, consisted of β-D-glucopyranose with (1→4) glycosidic bond, has both intra and inter hydrogen bonds and they make cellulose not to disperse in many solvent. For increasing its dispersibility, surface modification is needed. Many surface modification method is reported, but in this study we used (2,2,6,6,-Tetramethylpiperidin-1-yl)oxyl (TEMPO) for selectively oxidizing hydroxyl group of 6th carbon in order to make hydroxyl group to carboxyl group. In this study, we fabricated coin shape absorbing polymer composite matrix for hemostasis and used TOCN as filler to enhance the expansion force. By detecting blocked force under compress mode, we can obtain expansion force change over time. Macrophage cell, is used for degree of raw material’s immune response. The results show the composite matrix’s potential as a hemostatic. |
