In this work, silver (Ag) nanoparticles were doped onto the graphite nanofibers (GNFs) by chemical reduction. The effect of the Ag-doped GNFs (Ag-GNFs) on electrochemical behaviors of the polyaniline (PANI)-based composites was investigated. It was found that the highly dispersed Ag nanoparticles (2~5 nm) could be decorated onto the GNFs. From the cyclic voltammograms (CV), Ag-GNFs showed an increase of electrochemical activity compared with pristine GNFs. Furthermore, Ag-GNFs/PANI composites exhibited larger electric conductivity, current density, and specific capacitance than that of GNFs/PANI composites. This meant that the electrochemical performance of the composites was improved by the bridge effect of Ag between Ag-GNFs and PANI, which led to the improvement of electrical properties of the composites. |
