Effect of Ag@BiFeO3 photocatalyst on the decolorization of RhB solution |

Being a visible-light responsive semiconductor, BiFeO3 (BFO) is applied as a potential photocatalyst for environmental issues. To enhance photocatalytic efficiency, in this work, BiFeO3 was decorated with various amount of Ag. Morphology and phases of such samples were evaluated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). UV – Vis diffuse spectroscopy (DRS) was used to analyse absorption properties. The photocatalytic activities of the products were evaluated via the photodegradation of rhodamine – B (RhB) aqueous solution under simulated solar – light irradiation. The results indicated the important role of Ag nanoparticles on improving catalytic efficiency of BiFeO3. In this work as well, the influence of decorated Ag – amount on the decolorization of RhB solution was evaluated. |
