Facile Synthesis and Temperature Dependent Thermoelectric Properties of Bi2Te3 Nanowire/Graphene Layered Structures |

Bi2Te3 nanowire/graphene layered composites were fabricated with a facile wet chemical synthetic route, and their thermoelectric properties with different sintering temperatures were investigated. The ultrathin Bi2Te3 nanowires were evenly distributed between the graphene layers, leading to the formation of Bi2Te3 nanowire/graphene layered hybrid structures. The electrical conductivity of the sintered composites increased significantly with the sintering temperature, as the relative density and grain size increased. This result lowered the Seebeck coefficient due to the reduction of the potential barrier for carriers and their scattering at the interfaces. The synthesized Bi2Te3 nanowire/graphene composites exhibited a maximum figure of merit of 0.25 at an optimal sintering temperature of 623 K. |
