In this work, PVDF/Carbon films for thermoelectric application were prepared based on two types of carbon fillers, GNP and SWNT. In order to expect the n-doping effect, we prepared the PEI coated carbon fillers with two methods which are chemical adhesion using 3-(triethoxysily)propylsuccinic anhydride and physical dispersion using sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate(SDBS), respectively. Acid treatment process was also performed to maximize the thermoelectric effect using aqua regia prior to the PEI coating into carbon fillers. We fabricated the flexible hybrid free-standing films and measured the electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient of PVDF/Carbon composite films with different processing condition to evaluate the thermoelectric properties. We demonstrated that the resulting PVDF/Carbon composite films exhibited n-type thermoelectric properties and an acid treatment is effective for increasing electrical conductivity. |
