Synthesis and Characterization of Thienothiophene Derivative for Organic Solar Cell |

A thienothiophene based polymer (PONTET) for organic solar cell was synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction. The structure of PONTET was confirmed by 1H NMR and FT-IR. The thermal, optical and electronic properties of PONTET was investigated by themogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), UV-vis absorption, photoluminescence spectroscopies, cyclic voltammetry (CV). The absorption maximum spectra of PONTET was observed at 547 nm in solution state and at 637 nm in film state. The PL maximum spectra of PONTET was observed at 619 nm in solution state and at 732 nm in film state. The decomposition temperature of PONTET, which correspond to 5% weight loss upon heating, is around 282 ℃ and glass transition temperature is around 93 ℃. PONTET has narrow band gap as 1.55 eV and shows 1.3 % of power conversion efficiency. |
