Hydrogels have been used in various industries such as foods, agriculture, biomedical and biological application. Among them, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogels have been studied for a long time. Because of desirable characteristics, PVA hydrogels have been used in various application, such as biomedical, biochemical and pharmaceutical. PVA responded to changing external conditions such as temperature, solvent, pH, etc. Sensitivity of fluorescence is approximately 1,000 times greater than absorption spectrophotometric methods. In order to easy check stimulus detection via swelling, we introduced fluorescence dye in the PVA hydrogel. Herein, we synthesized PVA hydrogel with a fluorescence dye in aqueous solution. As a result, we can detect swelling of PVA hydrogel with fluorescence color change via specific stimulus. |
