Synthesis of Liquid Crystalline Epoxy Thermosets and Their Thermal Properties |

Liquid crystalline epoxies (LCEs) have been focused as thermoset resins with high thermal conductivity. In this work, we synthesized novel LCE series by introducing mesogenic moieties and alkyl spacer groups into diglycidyl terephthalate. Mesomorphic properties of the LCE series were estimated by differential scanning calorimetry, polarized optical microscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. We also tried to prepare epoxy resins from these LCE series with several curing agents. In the poster section, we will discuss more detailed characterization of LCE series and properties of cured epoxy resins. |
