제목 Solubility enhancement of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons using Epichlorohydrin Hydroxypropyl-β-Cyclodextrin oligomers and Epichlorohydrin β-Cyclodextrin oligomer
초록 Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are produced by the incomplete combustion of organic matter, and the removal from environment is extremely difficult due to their intrinsic hydrophobic nature. Herein, we aimed to solubilize PAHs using complexation technology in water. The aqueous solubility of six PAHs (Benzo[a]pyrene, Perylene, Chrysene, Fluoranthene, Phenanthrene and Pyrene) was successfully enhanced by the complexation with synthesized oligomeric host molecules (Epichlorohydrin Hydroxypropyl-β-Cyclodextrin oligomers and Epichlorohydrin β-Cyclodextrin oligomers). The formation of complexes was analyzed using FT-IR, DSC and FE-SEM and the effect on Fenton degradation of PAHs was investigated. On the basis of these results, cyclodextrin oligomers are suggested as a potential material for the development of PAHs removal systems.
