The sensitivity of pressure and velocity fields to gravity was explored by computational fluid dynamics. The multiphase flow model and some dynamic boundary conditions were considered in a simulation of a stirred tank. In comparing pressure and velocity fields under normal gravity and non gravity cases, different sensitivities of these fields under various conditions were found. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
