Experimental solubility and density for 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazol-5-one plus C-1 to C-7 1-alkanols
Solid-liquid equilibrium for 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazol-5-one(NTO) + C-1 to C-7 1-alkanols was measured over the temperature range from 259.55 K to 371.15 K. The solubility of NTO in alcohols increases with increasing polarity of the solvent. The results were well fitted by the best correlation equation. Densities of their binary mixtures have been measured at temperatures from 263.15 K to 368.15 K and at mole fractions of 0.0039 to 0.0276. It was found that the enthalpy of mixing for NTO + C-1 to C-7 1-alkanols decreases with an increase in the number of carbon atoms in alcohol. All the results were well correlated for temperature and composition dependence by a least-squares method.
