Underwater Oil Capture by a Three-Dimensional Network Architectured Organosilane Surface
Nanofibers and microbumps intertwined in 3D networked 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane (FTS)-derived surfaces are synthesized by a phase separation reaction. The surfaces shows super-amphiphobicity in air and superoleophilicity under water. The special wettablity of the surface is well retained, even after repeated use and flushing. The surfaces are successfully used to capture and collect oil droplets in water.
