Kinetics of catalytic combustion of dilute methane-air mixtures
Results are presented of kinetic studies of four catalyst types which could be applied for the combustion of methane present in coal mine ventilation air. Special attention is given to a cheap metal oxide catalyst. Based on conversion measurements as a function of temperature, CH4 concentration and H2O content kinetic equations are developed.
