An analysis of distribution of bed material and pressure fluctuations in the furnace of a 235 MW, circulating fluidized bed (CFB) is given. The results confirmed that in the CFB there exist four regions of different solids volume concentration i.e.: bottom region, dense region, dilute region and exit region. Each region is characterized by its own dominant pressure frequency of the bed material.
