The neg. effects of premature capacity loss of the pos. electrodes based on Pb-Ca alloys could be minimized or eliminated by adding more tin to the alloy and subsequent high-temp. curing of the electrode material. Electrodes contg. 4PbO.PbSO4 showed better elec. parameters but the electroformation had to be modified for the full elec, capacity to be achieved in the 1st discharging cycle. Esp. advisable was Pb3O4 added, 5%, to the paste to be cured.
