Use of weakly and strongly basic anion-exchange resins for removal of indigo carmine from aqueous solutions
Four ion-exchange resins were used for removing indigo carmine from its aq. solns. 0.0001 mol/L at 20-60 degrees C by static and dynamic methods. The equil. was reached after 15 min of sorption. The efficiency of the removal increased with increasing temp. of sorption. The sorption isotherms were also detd. The best results were achieved when strongly basic Amberlite IRA-958 was used (removal degree higher than 99%, total sorption capacity 0.0015 mol/g).
