An application of time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry in the surface studies of particles formed in combustion processes
Samples from the waste incineration plant contained mainly K, Ca, Mn, Co, Cu, Zn and Cl but also some amts. of As and Cd, while samples from the boiler plant contained mainly Li, Al, Si and Ni and also P and S on their surface. The fly ash from boiler plant contained C 37%, while the slag 8.9% and the ash from waste incineration plant only 1.5%.
