Effect of preparation methods on the structure and dispersion characteristics of lithium polysilicate solutions
Solns. of Li polysilicates (SiO(2), Lip modulus 4.76 to 8.45) were prepd. by reaction of Na water glass with LiON center dot H(2)O by ion exchange, aged and concd. under vacuum at 50 degrees C. The Na(2)O content in the solns. was below 0.002%. Size of colloidal SiO(2) particles were detd. both in reaction products and intermediates.
