Choise of an optimum mathematical model of a process exemplified by the tert-butyl hydroperoxide conversion during epoxidation of 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene in presence of Mo(CO)(6) catalyst
Epoxidation of 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene (CDT) with tert-BuOOH in (CH2Cl)(2) at 70 degrees C in presence of Mo(CO)(6) catalyst for 120 min was studied by using an exptl. design orthogonal plan with 15 expts. The full tert-BuOOH conversion was achieved at the CDT/tert-BuOOH mole ratio 3, catalyst concn. 2.910(-3) g/mL and reaction time 70 min. The conversion was described by a square polynominal equation.
