Bioaccumulation levels of toxic elements (Cr, Hg, Zn, Cu, Pb, As and Cd) in propolis used for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries were detd. Propolis samples from Opole and Legnica regions were mineralized by using the microwave technique at elevated pressure in the chip-type polytetrafluoroethylene bombs. and analyzed by plasma spectrometry. Concns. of Cd, As, Hg, Pb and Cr were higher than allowed by resp. standards.
