The millimeter wave spectrum of silver monoxide, AgO
The pure rotational spectra of (AgO)-Ag-107 and (AgO)-Ag-109 were recorded in the 117-380 GHz spectral region using a de-sputtering absorption cell. The Ag-107(I=1/2) and Ag-109(I=1/2) magnetic hyperfine parameters are interpreted in terms of plausible electronic configuration contributions to the X (2) Pi(i) state. It is shown that the determined unusual sign of the Lambda-doubling and Fermi contact parameters implies that the X (2) Pi(i) State is dominated by a three open shell configuration. A comparison with isovalent CuO is made.
