Kinetics of the Catalytic Combustion of Coal Tar
Coal tar combustion behavior was investigated in coexistence with ferric oxide and kaolin as catalysts. Thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis experiments were performed using heating rates of 10, 20, and 30 degrees C/min. The apparent activation energy (E) and pre-exponential factor (A) for combustion kinetic were obtained. The results showed that addition of ferric oxide and kaolin can improve tar combustion properties efficiently.
