Investigation of bright red emitting Mn doped aluminum silicate nanophosphor
Nanosized Mn-doped Aluminum Silicate nanophosphors were synthesized and various structural and optical characterizations were carried out using X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, UV-vis-Infrared absorption, photoluminescence etc. XRD patterns reveled precipitation of single phase crystals of mean size 08 nm when annealed at 1000 degrees C/2 h. Thermal behavior of the synthesized phosphor was explored using Thermogravimetric analysis. Bright orange-red emission centered at 605 rim due to the T-4(1) -> (6)A(1) transition of Mn2+ ion were reported on excitation with 384 nm photon. Emission yield was characterized by estimating CIE coordinates which were found to be a function of Mn2+ ion concentration. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
