Derivatives of indenoquinoxaline as dye photoinitiators of radical polymerization of trimethylolpropane triacrylate. The substituent effect in the photoredox pair
Nine indenoquinoxaline (I, R-1 and/or R-2 = H, Cl, Br, I, Me, OMe, COOMe) photoinitiators were syntetized by condensation of ninhydrine with resp. substituted o-phenyldiamines in EtOH soln. in presence of AcOH and used for photopolymerization of trimethylolpropane triacrylate in polar solvents under laser irradn. (intensity 20 mW/cm(2)) in presence of thiophenoxyacetic acid and 2-mercaptobenzoxazole to det. the initial polymerization rate. The I isomers (R-1 and/or R-2 = Br, I, Me, OMe) exhibited a high efficiency in photoinitiating the polymerization.
