HNBR for use in bio-diesel fuel
Rape seed oil methyl ester has been introduced as a natural substitute or supplement for standard diesel fuel in Germany and France. Standard elastomers like for instance NBR show problems in contact with this new fuel at elevated temperature. The resistance of HNBR to this new fuel and diesel fuel is investigated in comparison to other elastomers. It is shown that HNBR is a viable alternative for use at elevated temperature in biodiesel and diesel fuel.
