It is noted, that the problem of oil bearing formations＇ unification or separation should be settled not by intuition but on the basis of serious determination. Applicable method of determination is proposed, based on the utilization of nonuniform algebra. It is proven, that in most cases of restricted formation productivity, unification of oil bearing formations is rational.
