The results of earlier investigations showed that secondary acetamides and their thio analogues [1] are effective additives to lubricants. To search for effective additives, in the present work a number of new compounds of N-alkanoylthiobenzamides and N-thioalkanoylthiobenzamides were synthesized, and an investigation was made of their effect on the anticorrosion, antiscuff and antiwear properties of lubricants.
