An empirical model of the alkylation of toluene by aqueous ethanol solutions on a high-silica TsVK zeolite has been constructed, and it has been used to find the optimum reaction conditions:temperature 350 degrees C, toluene/ethanol molar ratio 1, mass feed rate 7.1 hr(-1).
