IMPROVED ACCEPTOR POLYMERS FOR ENZYMATIC GLYCOSYLATION
Different acceptor polymers for enzymic glycosylations were obtained by derivatising cross-linked polyacrylamide beads with various diamines and coupling of glucose via a light-sensitive glycosidic linkage. The carrier-bound glucose was shown to be an effective substrate in enzymic glycosylations with galactosyltransferase. A comparative study of the different acceptor polymers allowed for an evaluation of factors influencing the accessibility of the polymer-bound substrate.
