Neutron diffuse scattering from powder sample of alpha-Ag2Te was measured using a neutron diffractometer. Numerical calculations of the diffuse background have been made based on the crystal structure of alpha-Ag2Te, including the correlation between the thermal displacements of atoms. The main contribution to the observed oscillatory diffuse scattering from alpha-Ag2Te is from the correlation between the displacements of silver and tellurium atoms.
