The photo-stimulated effects (refractive index and film thickness variations under laser irradiation in the intrinsic absorption region) have been studied for GeOx films. The processes of their photo-stimulated dissolution were examined. The observed effects are described by a model of excitation of unsaturated valence bonds and layer-by-layer oxidation of such films.
